Big Pete spent the majority of his life flying his beloved deHavilland Beaver while serving as a vital link to the newly expanding Canadian northland. A man of great courage and caring, Peter joined the brotherhood of stalwart and stellar individuals who humbly took great pride in their collective ability to defy the precarious odds of weather and terrain in order to fulfill the northern frontiers' life sustaining and, indeed, often lifesaving supplies. Not a task for the timid, Big Pete welcomed the challenge and joined that small band of dedicated airmen. With their nerves of steel and the de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beavers' unparalleled record of reliability to become unquestionably the most important benevolent force that enabled the taming of the north.
